GoldBod Rakes In Over US$8 Billion from Small-Scale Gold Exports

GoldBod has reportedly generated more than US$8 billion in foreign exchange earnings from small-scale gold exports between January and mid-October 2025, according to official data circulating in the public domain.

The figures reveal that 81,719 kilograms of gold, valued at approximately US$8.06 billion, were exported during the period — a significant jump from the US$4.61 billion recorded in 2024, when 42,863 kilograms were shipped.

The impressive performance has attracted praise from sections of government communicators, including Lawyer Frank Asare Pedro, who lauded GoldBod CEO, Sammy Gyamfi Esq., during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show.

However, the conversation shifted to a more critical tone when host Kwami Sefa Kayi raised questions regarding the source of the gold, sparking a broader debate on the origins and regulation of the exports.
