Former Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has officially announced her intention to contest for the position of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Her entry into the race introduces a new dynamic to the party’s upcoming internal elections as delegates prepare to elect a fresh set of national executives.
Ursula made the declaration on her Facebook page on Monday, October 20, which coincided with her birthday. In her post, she called on party supporters nationwide to support her vision to revive and reorganise the NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“Dearest Patriots, I come to you on this day of my birth with genuine regards. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since our stormy face-off with ourselves and our base. We came out bruised, our individual and collective egos battered. We lie not in a good place. However, as our great tradition has demonstrated over the years… we will thrive,” she wrote.
