Young Apostles’ Richmond Opoku Wins NASCO Player of the Month for September

Richmond Opoku of Young Apostles FC has been named the NASCO Player of the Month for September in the Ghana Premier League — marking his first-ever monthly award in the top flight.

Opoku delivered a series of outstanding performances throughout the month, scoring three goals in three matches to beat off competition from Mohammed Zaidan of Karela United and Etse Dogli of Heart of Lions.

His brilliance in front of goal has been instrumental in Young Apostles’ impressive start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. The Wenchi-based side currently sit third on the league table with 10 points after Matchday Five, their best-ever start since joining the top division in 2024.

During September, Opoku netted a crucial equalizer away against Hohoe United before firing a superb brace at home to Dreams FC, helping his side secure back-to-back victories and maintain momentum.

In addition to his goals, he also claimed one NASCO Player of the Match award, further highlighting his growing influence on the pitch.

As part of his prize, Richmond Opoku will receive a 43-inch NASCO digital satellite television and a NASCO double-door refrigerator in recognition of his remarkable form.
