Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Kofi Adams, has confirmed that the government has cleared all outstanding bonuses and allowances owed to the Black Queens following their qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Speaking to the media in Accra, Hon. Adams praised the Queens for their hard work, discipline, and determination, which secured Ghana’s return to the continental competition.
“I can confirm that all the outstanding bonuses due the Black Queens have been paid. Government remains committed to ensuring fairness and equal support for both male and female national teams,” he stated.
He also commended the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the technical team for their continuous efforts in developing women’s football, assuring that the Ministry will work closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth preparations ahead of the tournament.
The Black Queens’ qualification marks their triumphant comeback to the WAFCON after years of absence, reigniting national optimism about the future of women’s football in Ghana.
