President John Mahama has directed the immediate suspension of the ongoing Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise following a tragic stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium that claimed six lives.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday morning, left several others injured as hundreds of applicants reportedly rushed to gain entry to the venue.
Authorities say an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the chaos and to prevent future occurrences.
