Ghanaian media personality and Guinness World Record sing-a-thon contender Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has raised alarm over threats to her life, claiming she is being targeted by unknown individuals.
In a recent interview, Afua revealed that she has been receiving disturbing messages and strange calls from people she believes are attempting to intimidate her. According to her, the situation has left her in fear and forced her to limit her public appearances.
“I don’t feel safe anymore. I’ve been getting calls from unknown numbers and messages that clearly show someone wants to harm me,” she said emotionally.
Afua added that the threats began shortly after her Guinness World Record sing-a-thon attempt, which gained massive public attention in late 2023. She hinted that her rising profile and recent public controversies may have attracted the wrong kind of attention.
“I’ve worked so hard to represent Ghana positively, and it’s sad that doing something good can put your life at risk. I just want protection and peace,” she lamented.
Her management team has reportedly contacted the Ghana Police Service to investigate the matter and provide security assistance. Fans and followers have since flooded social media with messages of support, urging authorities to take her concerns seriously.
Asantewaa continues to call for calm among her supporters while expressing hope that the culprits behind the threats will be brought to justice.
