Captain Planet Sparks Heated Debate Over Revealing Outfits at Tidal Rave

Captain Planet has triggered widespread discussion on social media after openly criticising the outfits worn by some young female attendees at this year’s Tidal Rave festival.

In a post made shortly after the event, the rapper expressed shock at what he called the “increasingly revealing” fashion choices among young women.

“I just dey see some dressings from yesterday’s Tidal Rave. Chaley, some of these small, small girls—I don’t know whether they’re models or pornstars. What the hell is happening in Ghana?” he wrote.

His comments immediately drew backlash, with many accusing him of shaming women and attempting to police their bodies. Critics argued that fashion evolves over time and festivals have always been spaces where people express themselves freely through style.

Others insisted that his remarks reinforced harmful stereotypes and placed unfair moral judgment on the younger generation.

However, Captain Planet doubled down on his stance. Responding to critics, he insisted his concerns were about “decency,” not policing personal freedom.

“So you go allow your sister to dress like this outside?” he fired back at one user. “You’re comparing Ghana to America?”

His rebuttal has further fuelled the online debate. While some supporters agree that Ghanaian youth are becoming overly influenced by Western culture, others argue that personal expression should not be constrained by societal expectations.

The conversation continues to gain traction across platforms, reflecting broader cultural tensions around fashion, freedom, and evolving norms in Ghana.
