President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in five newly appointed envoys, charging them to advance Ghana’s foreign policy priorities and actively promote the government’s “reset agenda” on the global stage.
At a ceremony held at the Jubilee House, the President emphasised the strategic role of diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations, attracting investment, and projecting Ghana’s renewed vision for economic transformation and international cooperation. He urged the envoys to uphold professionalism, integrity, and national interest in their respective missions.
President Mahama noted that the reset agenda is aimed at repositioning Ghana’s global standing through effective diplomacy, economic partnerships, and strengthened ties with key allies. He encouraged the envoys to work closely with host governments and diaspora communities to unlock new opportunities for trade, tourism, and development.
The President further reminded them that their appointments come with a responsibility to represent Ghana’s values and aspirations while contributing to peace, stability, and sustainable growth within the international community.
The swearing-in forms part of the government’s broader effort to revitalise Ghana’s diplomatic service and ensure that foreign missions play a more active role in supporting national development objectives.
