Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda believes Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies will serve as a crucial test of the team’s preparedness ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
According to Dauda, the pre-tournament matches will offer the technical team an opportunity to assess player combinations, tactical discipline, and overall squad cohesion before the global showpiece.
He emphasised that such friendlies are not merely ceremonial fixtures but strategic assessments that help expose weaknesses and refine strengths.
“These matches will show us exactly where we stand as a team. It’s better to identify lapses now and correct them before the tournament begins,” he noted.
Dauda also urged the players to approach the friendlies with seriousness and intensity, stressing that competition for places in the final squad should push performance levels higher.
Ghana is expected to use the games to fine-tune preparations as the Black Stars aim to make a strong impression on the world stage.
