Bashir Hayford Named NASCO Coach of the Month for September

Heart of Lions’ Head Coach, Bashir Hayford, has been crowned NASCO Coach of the Month for September, in recognition of his exceptional leadership, tactical mastery, and unbeaten run with the club.

The veteran coach guided his team through a flawless month, securing three consecutive victories without a single defeat — a performance that underscored both the team’s discipline and his technical expertise.

Under Coach Hayford’s direction, Heart of Lions displayed impressive consistency and balance, emerging as one of the most formidable sides in the league during the period. The team netted six goals — the joint-highest in the league — while conceding just one, reflecting a fine blend of attacking efficiency and defensive organization.

His ability to inspire his players and adapt tactically to each opponent proved decisive in the team’s strong start to the campaign.

Coach Hayford’s remarkable run saw him beat strong competition from Mas-Ud Didi Dramani of Hearts of Oak and Nurudeen Amadu, the reigning league-winning coach of Karela United, to claim the prestigious honour.

A look at the results for the month highlights his influence on the touchline:

  • Heart of Lions 1–0 Dreams FC – a gritty season opener in Kpando.

  • Eleven Wonders 1–4 Heart of Lions – a dominant away win showcasing attacking flair.

  • Heart of Lions 1–0 Bechem United – a narrow but crucial home victory to complete the perfect month.

For his outstanding achievements and tactical excellence, Coach Bashir Hayford will receive a 43-inch NASCO digital satellite television and a NASCO double-door refrigerator as his reward.
