GEA Graduates 228 Young Entrepreneurs, Distributes Start-Up Kits Under Mastercard Foundation BizBox Project

The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation through the BizBox Project, has held a graduation and start-up kit distribution ceremony for 228 young entrepreneurs in the Ho Municipality.

The beneficiaries received their start-up packages after successfully completing intensive training under the Agric and Agribusiness to Entrepreneurship (AA2E) and the Apprenticeship to Entrepreneurship (A2E) components of the programme.

Under the initiative, the young entrepreneurs were equipped with practical, hands-on skills in various trades, including fruit juice processing, dressmaking, hairdressing, and masonry, among others. The training forms part of efforts to support Ghanaian youth in transitioning from learning to productive entrepreneurship.

According to GEA, the distribution of start-up kits marks the beginning of each participant’s entrepreneurial journey, aimed at fostering job creation, promoting innovation, and enhancing sustainable livelihoods within local communities.

The intervention also aligns with and contributes to the 24-Hour Economy policy championed by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, which seeks to expand employment opportunities and boost productivity nationwide.

GEA reaffirmed its commitment to empowering the country’s young people with the skills, tools, and opportunities needed to thrive in the evolving economic landscape, adding that the agency will continue to support youth-led enterprises nationwide.
