A man who caused a security incident involving American pop star Ariana Grande at a movie premiere has been officially banned from entering Singapore, authorities have confirmed.
The incident occurred during a red-carpet event where Ariana Grande made a public appearance. According to security officials, the man breached the barricaded area and grabbed the singer before being swiftly restrained by event security. Although Grande was not harmed, the incident raised concerns about celebrity safety at major public events.
Following an investigation, Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) issued the ban, stating that the individual’s actions posed a security risk and violated public safety protocols. Authorities emphasised that such behaviour would not be tolerated, especially at high-profile gatherings attended by international guests.
Event organisers also released a statement thanking security personnel for their swift response and reassuring fans that Ariana Grande continued with her scheduled activities after the incident.
The man’s identity has not been released, but officials confirmed he has been barred from entering Singapore indefinitely.
The ban is expected to serve as a warning to others regarding strict security standards at events held in the country.
