Winner of the 2020 edition of Ghana’s Most Beautiful has asserted that social media has not redefined the true standard of beauty, insisting that authenticity, confidence, and character remain the qualities that define genuine beauty.
Speaking in an interview, the beauty queen acknowledged the growing influence of social media on perceptions of appearance but argued that online trends and beauty filters have not altered the core values that beauty pageants and society should uphold.
According to her, beauty extends beyond physical appearance and should be measured by qualities such as intelligence, confidence, cultural identity, and the ability to positively impact society.
She encouraged young women to embrace their natural selves rather than feeling pressured to conform to unrealistic standards often portrayed on social media platforms.
The former beauty queen also emphasised the importance of self-confidence and authenticity, noting that while social media can be a useful platform for inspiration and personal branding, it should not determine an individual’s self-worth.
Her remarks have sparked conversations about the evolving definition of beauty in the digital age and the role social media plays in shaping self-image, particularly among young people.
