US Court Orders Extradition of Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu to Ghana

A United States court has ordered the extradition of Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu to Ghana to face legal proceedings over alleged financial misconduct.

The ruling paves the way for Ghanaian authorities to take custody of the former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), who has been at the centre of a high-profile legal case involving the alleged misappropriation of public funds.

According to reports, the extradition request was granted after the United States’ legal processes confirmed that the case met the requirements under existing extradition agreements between the two countries.

Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is expected to be returned to Ghana to face trial and respond to charges brought against her in connection with her tenure at MASLOC.

The case has attracted significant public attention in Ghana, as it is seen as part of broader efforts by the state to ensure accountability and combat financial impropriety in public office.

Ghanaian authorities have welcomed the decision, describing it as a step forward in the pursuit of justice and the rule of law.
