“Drawing Against England Was a Fair Result” – Carlos Queiroz Hails Ghana’s Discipline After Stalemate

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has described Ghana’s goalless draw against England as a fair result, praising his players for their discipline, determination, and tactical execution throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L encounter.

Speaking after the match, the Portuguese tactician commended his team for sticking to the game plan against one of the tournament’s strongest sides. He noted that the players showed resilience and composure to earn a valuable point that keeps Ghana firmly in contention for a place in the Round of 32.

According to Queiroz, the Black Stars matched England in key areas of the game and defended resolutely, while remaining a threat on the counterattack.

“Drawing against England was a fair result. The players showed great discipline, commitment, and belief. They executed the tactical plan very well and deserved the point,” he said.

The Ghana coach also urged his players to remain focused, emphasising that the team’s attention has now shifted to the decisive final Group L fixture against Croatia.

The draw leaves Ghana with four points from two matches, following their opening 1-0 victory over Panama. A win against Croatia would secure the Black Stars a place in the Round of 32.

Queiroz expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to rise to the occasion, insisting that the team would continue to work hard to make the nation proud.

The Black Stars will now turn their attention to Saturday’s crucial clash against Croatia, with qualification to the knockout stage hanging in the balance.
