The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially closed its teacher recruitment portal after receiving more than 40,000 applications from qualified candidates across the country.
According to GES, the overwhelming response reflects the high level of interest among graduates seeking employment within the education sector. The recruitment exercise, which targeted trained teachers, attracted applicants from various colleges of education and universities nationwide.
Officials indicated that the next phase of the process will involve the screening and verification of submitted applications to ensure that only qualified candidates are shortlisted. Successful applicants will subsequently be contacted for further assessment and possible placement.
GES also assured applicants of a transparent and merit-based selection process, urging candidates to remain patient as the review process is carried out.
The closure of the portal marks a significant step in the Service’s efforts to strengthen the country’s education system by recruiting competent teachers to fill vacancies across public schools.
The development has generated widespread attention, highlighting both the demand for teaching jobs and the ongoing need for employment opportunities among graduates in Ghana.
