John Jinapor Addresses Water Challenge in Yapei-Kusawgu; Commissions Nine Mechanised Boreholes

Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, has brought lasting relief to several communities in his constituency with the commissioning of nine mechanised boreholes to address persistent water shortages in the area.

The initiative forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to improving access to clean and safe drinking water for residents, particularly in rural communities that have long struggled with unreliable water sources.

Speaking at a brief ceremony to hand over the facilities, Hon. Jinapor said access to potable water remains a key priority under his development agenda for Yapei-Kusawgu.

“Water is life, and it is unacceptable for our people to continue suffering from water scarcity in this modern era. These boreholes will go a long way to improve health, sanitation, and the general well-being of our constituents,” he stated.

Communities Benefit from the Project

The nine mechanised boreholes were constructed in strategic locations across the constituency, including Yapei, Buipe, Kusawgu, Sankpala, and surrounding communities, to ensure equitable distribution and accessibility.

Each facility is fully equipped with solar-powered pumping systems and storage tanks to guarantee sustainability and reduce operational costs.

Improving Living Standards

Residents expressed their appreciation to the MP for his continuous dedication to improving livelihoods. Many recounted years of walking long distances in search of water, particularly during the dry season.

Community leaders also commended Hon. Jinapor for prioritising development projects that directly impact the lives of the people.

“For years, we relied on streams and wells that often dried up. Today, we have clean and constant water right in our community,” said one resident.

A Commitment to Development

Hon. Jinapor reiterated his determination to continue addressing key social needs in education, health, and infrastructure across the constituency. He called on community members to take good care of the new facilities to ensure their longevity.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by traditional authorities, assembly members, and enthusiastic residents who hailed the MP for his proactive leadership and people-centred approach to development.
