Gov’t Currently Recruiting 7,000 Teachers, 3,000 Lecturers Nationwide — Education Minister

The Minister for Education has announced that the government is currently undertaking a nationwide recruitment exercise to employ 7,000 teachers and 3,000 lecturers across the country as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s education sector.

According to the minister, the recruitment forms part of the government’s broader strategy to address staffing gaps in basic schools, senior high schools, technical institutions, and tertiary educational facilities nationwide.

Speaking during a public engagement, the minister explained that the initiative aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning while ensuring that educational institutions have adequate human resources to support academic delivery.

The recruitment exercise is expected to benefit newly trained teachers, graduate professionals, and qualified lecturers seeking employment within the education sector.

The government says the move will also help reduce unemployment among trained education professionals while enhancing access to quality education in underserved communities.

The Education Ministry further indicated that the recruitment process will be transparent and merit-based, urging all interested and qualified applicants to follow official procedures and avoid fraudulent middlemen.

The announcement has generated positive reactions among education stakeholders and graduates, many of whom see the exercise as a major boost for employment and educational development in Ghana.

More details regarding application procedures, qualification requirements, and posting arrangements are expected to be communicated through official government and education sector channels in the coming days.
