The Centre for National Culture has officially launched its annual Student Drama Festival in Accra, bringing together students from various schools to showcase their talents in drama, storytelling, and stage performances.
The festival aims to promote Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, nurture young creative talents, and provide a platform for students to express themselves through the performing arts. Participants are expected to present plays that address social issues, cultural values, and themes related to national development.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, organisers highlighted the importance of drama as a tool for education, creativity, and character development among young people. They also encouraged students to use the platform to build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills.
The event is expected to attract teachers, parents, cultural enthusiasts, and members of the public, with outstanding performances set to be recognised and rewarded.
The annual festival remains one of the Centre for National Culture’s flagship initiatives aimed at preserving Ghanaian culture while inspiring the next generation of artists and performers.
